    GS1000E BS34 stock Jet setup

Anyone got the spec for different model from the 1000G? CV carbs so would need to be 80+

Just want to double check. I have a feeling the main jet could be bigger.... I'm just accumulating info

I checked the sticky but nobody has posted it yet. All the 1000 stuff is VM or other models... For info the 1000G posted there is canadian spec needles not California.

The 1980 GS1000E has a 107.5 stock main. Aren't you running a 115? You had a 122.5 installed and it was rich, right?

Have you looked through the carb 'stickies' at the top of this forum?

      Posts 15, 21, 22, 23, 28, 87 all have information about the 1000.

Hmm the fiche says 107.5 for a 1980E with the same size needles as the G. G calls for a 115 main (so does the 850 & 1100G) seems to be all to do with the airbox as the 1100E is 107.5 again (tube type airbox).

The 1000E also has the different airbox with the tube type filter.....

Is this the main jet for the CV's? Looks like it to me....

        Cheers,

Yep, 122.5 was rich (was the one that ran nicely at WOT with no filter at Bruce's place)

Have posted further info on my other thread, I think we've answered this one

It seems to run better at WOT with the K&N partially taped up so it could be the 122.5 was too much but the 117.5 might bring it just right...

By the way, I still might bring it your way if I get time, won't be till after Feb tho, too many work trips so whilst I have it here I figure I might as well keep playing....

If you look back I mentioned 117.5 in an earlier thread. But I'm not a "told you so" kind of guy.;-)

That is the right jet from your link.:-D

I know, I remember full well.... I think I still would have needed to mess with the needles though & jammed pilot screws were no good so I haven't really lost a lot

I'm going to do some more testing with the tape, then depending on that I'll try the 117.5's or fit the 122.5's back in or 120's & the V&H... (I think Keith says a V&H is good for 5 up) & Kent uses a 120 in his 1100 with that setup. Decisions, decisions
