I'm considering doing a momentary contact kill switch for quick shifting, do the GS transmissions take abuse decently?

So if I set up one of those and use it with some frequency (or even just shift clutchless a lot), I'm not gonna kill the transmission? Good to know, thanks. I figure one of these will cost me what... $2 max to make, and it'll be about the most cost effective improvement I can make in 1/4 mile times (even better than seat time).

My original '81 GS550 (which is still in the shed) was ridden hard (by me) for many years as a youngster and I almost never used the clutch. They don't make 'em like that anymore.
