Will an E seat fit on my G frame

    So,

After lots of thought and research on my 81 GS650G seat replacement, I was wondering if anyone knows if an 81 GS650E seat would fit to my 650G seat.

I think the step up on my G seat causes many of my uncomfort issues. I suppose I could always cut the foam so it's straight (not stepped) and buy an E cover.

    any ideas? thanks

I don't think it will, the frames are quite different. I've seen the e model up close and they use very different chassis parts.

That's too bad about the different chassis. Hey d, the other day I purchased (online) about 9 articles, up to 30 pages total of old articles of our 650G when it came out in the early 80's. Reviews, opinions, etc. Let me know if you would like a copy, I can e-mail it to you. That goes for anyone else interested.

In the articles they get very specific about the comfort of the seat on long tours. The biggest complaint was the step up for the passenger. Tons of other goodies too.

FYI- the check is in the mail for those boots! thanks!\\/

would like to read them, I'll PM my email address.

I've done 500 miles on my bike in a day, I didn't mind the seat too much. I guess it depends on the shape of the butt.
