So I picked up my 82 GS850 the other day and man do I have my work cut out for me. All and all the bike is in pretty decent shape but needs work before I can even try to start it. That said I need a new tank. I found one for a 81 GS550 but does anyone know if that will fit the 850? I compared the specs and they look the same but want to be sure before I invest.

Mounting points...as the frame on the 850 is larger? Just thoughts, but I wouldn't want to bet on it.

I think you need to be looking for an 82 and up 850 tank or an 82 and up 1100G tank.
