what can yall tell me about an 850 16v engine? I have someone who has one lying a round that they are going to give me... thinking of using it in a go cart..... :twisted: :twisted:

Ummmmm... I'm not positive, but I THINK that all GS850 engines, regardless of year, are 2-valve per cylinder (8 valves total), and are also shaft drive only. -
dito: all 850's are 2 valve, shaft drive On the right side of the engine there should be a serial # pad with engine size. Ask him if it is chain drive?? it may be a 750Comment

hmm have to wait until it gets here(in tennessee w/my otherr 1100) the guy seems sure its a 16v.. I have only messed with the bigger ones so i am not sure..ill check on it and see... thanksComment
