1) Pull seat, tank, and battery (left box in)
2) Loosen all clamps connecting carbs to airbox and front boots as well as boot to engine intake clamp
3) Take bolts out holding airbox in place
4) move airbox back as much as possble (about 1/2 in my case) and wiggle the carbs out...
The problem I am having is no matter how much i wiggle the carbs, i don't have enough clearence between the carbs and the airbox to allow the carbs to slip off the front boots.. Is there any trick to this? I've thought about resorting to cutting the boots and replacing them, but i don't want to do this as they seem to be in ok shape. Will using any lubricants on the front boot help get it to come loose? Thanks in advance.
