    Castrol GTX

I've been using Pennzoil 10-40 for years and never given it much thought. Kragen is having a really good sale/rebate on Castrol GTX. Does anyone have any special thoughts about that brand?? (My guess is that it's virtually the same stuff.) Thanks!:-D

It's what I've been using for the last year and a half. It's nice to get it in the big jug also. I use to use motorcycle specific Castrol synthetic oil, but now I can get twice the oil for the same price. Haven't had an oil related problem yet.

It's also all I use in my car now since Mobile 1 changed their formula.

I use it in my car and have been happy with it in bikes in the past, but at this point I use Chevron diesel oil in the bikes

My dad swears by Duckhams, I swear by GTX - in all the cars and the bikes for years. Just a personal choice I suppose. Shot up in price over here recently though.

not to hijack, but while we are on the subject of oil, anyone ever use an oil treatment such as lucas in their oil? i would think it'd help the clutches out as well as the motor in general. i love it in my cars.

Oil treatments in wet clutch engines are not recommended.

I have been using gtx in gs's etc since they were virtually new & have never had a problem despite high mileages & sometimes very hard use :-D

i do change oil & filter regularly which helps a lot in keeping things sweet but gtx is always my first choice for oil

GTX since I got the bike. Then tried synth and found some leaks. Back to GTX. It works, don't mess with it.

I've used GTX for years in cars & also in the GS. TPO used it in the GS too.

I have recently switched to Rotella T in the bike, same price & gives a nicer shift as well as I believe less "long chains" to get cut up (so it lasts longer) & better high temp protection for the summer.
