    Fuel Tank Hose

I have a 1981 GS 1000 G. I removed the fuel tank and the (vacum?) hose from the sending unit was missing. Can someone let me know where this hose connects to? Thanks

There is a nipple for it on the number 2 carb on the manifold side down underneath the mechanical stuff that actuates the carbs.

Sending unit hose is open to the air. The hoze doctorgonzo is talking about is the vacuum line to the petcock...which connects to the carbs as he said.

        Good catch Nessism, my fault.

Actually, I don't have a hose on there either. My fuel gauge works, so not sure what function it even serves.

Not sure but I think the hose on the sending unit is to safely route fuel away from the engine/electrical system if the sending unit springs a leak.

I think that's exactly right. On my bikes, those hoses route to the area between the tank and the seat and then head straight down towards the road.

What the hell, it's a foot of fuel hose. I guess I'll put one on there.

Thanks for the help. I kinda figured it went to nowhere land since it isn't mentioned in the manual.
