I own a 81 450L, and was hoping someone could give me a little knowledge on carbs. what model they are, if there is jet kits still available and if i put a mac exhaust on and pods, what jets to use. thanks for any imput

Being an 81, I would think that you're likely using BS32SS carbs. I may be wrong, as ive never really investigated the set up of a 450, but generally after 80, i do believe just about every bike on the road was using some form of constant velocity carburetors. And the BS32SS were used on everything GS that I am aware of from 750 down. Yes there are jet kits still available, thru DynoJet. If you're simply switching to a aftermarket pipe, and NOT changing your intake (still using the stock airbox) then you'll likely need only the Stage One jet kit. However, I would investigate with DynoJet and MAC on their suggestions. Some pipes suggest that rejet is not necessary. -
