which petcock?
I have a 1980 gs550e that I am rebuilding and during this process, I have ummm, misplaced (read lost) my petcock.
I am having a difficult time finding the right one to replace it with. Which one do I need?

It ain't cheap

#1 Fuel Cock Assembly= 44300-49172
#2 O-ring= 44348-49170
#3 Bolt= 09128-06006 (2 req)
#4 Gasket= 09168-06010 (2 req)
Wow, #1 is about $84 from www.alpha-sports.com. You might be able to find it cheaper or use an aftermarket petcock (Pingle?).
Thank you for your indulgence,

84 bucks seems kinda steep!!! I just found Bike bandit and they are 80 also?!
Why are they so high for this year? Would any other sizes fit?Comment

Oh, I don't know. You'll only need the one for the next 25 years or so. Why not get the real thing and be done with it? Any other solution could give you grief.
Thank you for your indulgence,
