GS500 Throttle LAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

My friend has a 00ish GS500 and hasn't had much luck with it this year. She can hold the throttle in for a good 4 seconds until it finally revs up. She's taken the carbs off and cleaned them but to no avail. Any suggestions?

Any kinks in the throttle cable?

She's done the basics such as filters and plugs. No kinks.

Try turing the petcock to prime, and see if she's still got the lag.

Maybe you should go help her fix it

When she pulls the cable do does the throttle linkage follow her wrist motion? Were the carbs balanced and tuned after she pulled them off to clean them? Is she getting good solid spark?
