    Oil pressure!!!

Hi! The oil light on my 81 GS1000 stopped working a few day ago, so I decided to install a pressure guage! After installation I took it for a spin and it is reading 0! When I give it gas it moves a little but only to about 5 pounds! The oil light always went out as soon as it started. The reason I didn't fix the light is that it was the oil pressure sending switch that went out and I have been wanting to install a guage for a few weeks now.
Thanks in advance for any help!

They're low pressure oil systems on the 1000 - your pressure is ok.

The oil pressure sensor is almost 100% foolproof, the problem most likely is either a wiring issue or a burned bulb.

fun fact alert: some GSs have roller bearing cranks so they dont need the high pressure systems as regular bearing cranks do.
