speedo cable question?

ok. i'm somewhat confused. i can't tell from looking at the parts fisches.
i believe that i've got e forks.. and i'm looking at speedo cables, but the gear on the wheel i have is female, and i can't tell if the cables in the fische are male, or female. anyone know firsthand?

both ends of the cable are female on z e ohlala

hmm; thats not the ones i have, then.. cause mine is female at the gauge, male at the gear.
