I'd like to know what size main jet I would need to upgrade to after going from a stock to attaching a 4 into 1 exhaust system and removing air box to install separate K&N filters on each carb?

What is the stock jet size? Example from my dynojet kit for my 1000G:
For pods and exhaust you are supposed to install a 170 DJ needle which translates to about a 160 Mikuni. That is in conjunction with a new more tapered needle on the third notch, drilling the slides, and putting a restrictor plug in the main air passage. -

Yes, all that. When you go with pods and pipe you need to adjust and tune all 3 circuits in your carb - pilot, needle and main. If you only change the main jets it will run like garbage. It needs to be the whole package or don't start down that road. It is not terribly difficult, but it takes a methodical approach and time. Expect to have your carbs off the bike 4-5 times minimum to sort everything. This is not a big deal with pods, though, they come off in 5 minutes or less with no swearing.Originally posted by buster View Post
If you aren't interested in doing that, leave it alone. It probably runs well as is, just enjoy that and ride it. If you want a much sharper, more entertaining ride, you will get it with pods and the pipe. But it will take an investment in time and effort to finish it.
