Aren't they the same? If you mean L vs G then I believe not without mods, but others can answer for sure.

well, i found an 1100L tank for sale, but i need one for an 1100GL. what i need to know is if the L tank will bolt straight on or not.

i'm not 100 percent sure but i think they are one in the same. someone just forgot to add an g.

If you're referring to a 1980 GS1100L model (chain drive) they are different.
If it is for the 80 let me know how much you want for it. I need a spare while mine get's painted.
