I picked up a late model (93-ish, I think) CBR something or other regulator rectifier last winter with the thought of replacing the faulty one on my 82 Katana. But the 82 is in pieces and now the 84 750 Katana has a failed reg rec (the stator is still ok, though....).
The Honda unit is very beefy with 7 wires. 3 yellow, 2 red and 2 green.
From my search efforts I've concluded that the yellow are the stator connections, the green are the grounds and the red are the positives.
My existing reg rec had 5 wires: 3 yellow, 1 black/white stripe and 1 red.
So, to connect up the Honda I connect the yellow to yellow, one ground to the battery negative and one ground to the frame, and for the reds - 1 red to existing red and the other red to battery positive?
Simple enough, but the reds are what have me concerned. Any clarification would be super duper...
