Lean jetting as others have stated would heat things up as well. Follow up with additional information on the state of tune etc of your GS1000S. Your GS should not be running @ 300+ especially in N. Ireland. My GS1000 is modified and is equipped with an oil temp gauge. I have never seen continuous temperatures in excess of 300F

I would suggest verifying the operation as simon kuether stated. I used to have a temp gauge with a long metal pick up which doubled as a oil filler cap on my R100RS. If you can find a similar temp gauge @ a local cycle shop that would be the easiest method of verifying the operation of that old OEM GS1000S temp gauge.Originally posted by jyjet View Post
