That is the ignition pick-up, which goes under the ignition cover on the right side of the motor. Yours was under the gas tank?

i am not positvie it was that under the tank.but their was something under the gas tank that looked like that and had two wires that were unplugged.

That's the fuel level sending unit. The wires go to your fuel gauge.

Yup!!!. The tank is off a bike with a gauge (like a GK)
