Gas on top of carb diaphragm

Can gas get on top of the diaphragm normally, or is this one shot?

    Gas

Definitely shot. The only way to get gas on top is if there is a tear/hole.

Normally, this is not a possibility.

After your having broached the question so very discreetly, however, one wonders, have you discussed what to call the baby?

how much gas was on top of the diaphram?
it is posible for gas vapors to condense on top of the diaphram or there is a port that go's from the diaphram chamber into the enrichener ciurcut.
if there was alot of gas then I would suspect something is amiss.

take and hold the diaphram up to your eye and look at a bright light, if there is a pin hole you will be able to see it.
