GS 550E clutch

Hi,

Can anybody please tell me if a clutch set for a 1980 GS750 will fit a 1979 GS550E?

My GS550E clutches are (I think) on the their last legs and there is a new set of 750 clutches on an auction site here in NZ.

Any help appreciated.

Usually it's only the springs that need replacing.

I would have at a guess that they would not fit as they have different part numbers. Unless someone has some 750 clutch plates that can give you some measurements I think I would leave them alone.

I run a 750 clutch in my 79 550. It has more plates. I also use the 1st gear from a GS450 that gives me a taller- closer ratio.
