    how heavy??

So, how heavy is my motor? 80-1100.
Can I lift it by myself? I will remove the engine covers & carbs but want to leave the rest of the motor assembled?

You can lift it if you are fairly strong.
Lifting it to install it into a frame might be another story.
    Two guys can do it.

If your balls drop to your ankles, the answer is no. Post a picture of yourself in the gym, then I'll take my guess.

Yup us young, big, strong guys can do it, I've done it...

          52, almost 5'8" and 150 lbs....(and I don't work out)...

The clutch basket and hub were out, carbs off...but the head and valve cover was on....

I found it more awkward than heavy...

Well, i'm not a big guy but I'm fairly strong. 57 years old though. Sorry, Lecroy, no pics. LOL
I was thinking of trying to rig up a hoist to lift it out of the frame.

              If the equivalent weight

was on a barbell I could probably dead lift it (6'1",200lbs), but due to the size, it is ackward and putting it into a frame alone would be very difficult if you are trying to avoid scratching the chit out of your frame.

Get some help, it will be well worth the extra trouble.

Undo all your engine mounts, lay a foam matress beside the bike, tip it over onto the matress and lift the frame off the engine.Cheers,Simon.

So we don't need to update our membership to the gym to get the motorcycle back together after all?

Does this work with a water bed?

it probably would, but why would you be putting a waterbed in the engine bay of your motorcycle?

Yes that's true, although I did come to the same conclusion before I saw it on here. When I came to pull the engine,I had removed everything else and only had the engine and frame to go.Take the breather cover off the tappet cover to give you that little extra room.Cheers,Simon.
