    Push/Pull throttle

Does anyone know if I can make the push/pull throttle on the gs1000 into a single line? the only thing I can think of is to put some kind of spring on the carb where the throttle cable attaches, and then I can loose one of the cables... Anyone done this?

VM carbs already have a pretty aggressive spring forcing the throttle closed. Under normal usage I don't think you need a cable to pull the slides closed but not sure about full throttle usage were vacuum may suck the slides against the carb body.

As an aside, I still can’t get used to the term “push/pull” throttle cables; to me a better term is “pull/pull”. Cables can’t push thus using this term seems silly to me even though that’s the common terminology.

I expect you find out that the single cable can't "push" when the spring breaks & you can't get the slides shut to kill the throttle

Make sure you have a good spring on there if you go this route & that the kill switch works.
