    Baffle Removal - Rejet sizes?

    Ok,

I've had the bike for 3 days, and I already want to fiddle with it.

If I remove the baffles from the stock megaphones on an 81 GS650 Mikuni CV32 carbs) does anyone know approx. what the pilot and mains need to be bumped up to?

I haven't decided to do it to the GS, but I did it to my VL800 and got a nice little boost out of it.

First look at your plug color before you remove the baffel--then remove the baffel, ride it a while and look
at the plugs again. you may not need to do anything.

You won't need to touch the pilots or the needles, but you may need to go up a step or two with the mains, if the plugs are a bit light.

If my air flow increases due to the decrease in back pressure, wouldn't I need to increase both pilots and mains, or are the pipes such that back pressure doesn't really increase until you're under throttle?

i think if you go really big on the mains you might have to go to a larger idle jet
