    Starter motor & Windscreen........

Before I took my bike of the road, the starter moter stared playing up, i think the solenoid was buggered, just gave a click when i pressed the button.
Can the starters be stripped and repaired, or is it better to source a new unit? Had to replace the starter on "her indoors" car, last week, and that cost over 250 euro, dont want to see what suzuki charge for one.

Also now i have your attention (although it should be in the appearance section, sorry kind moderator!) looked at fitting a Katana screen on the front, above the headlight.
Suzi dealer wants around 250 euro! (for a bit of smoked plastic, i dont think so.) Any ideas on where i can lay my hands on non o/e screens?

    any help most welcome.............

You should check whether it's the solenoid or the starter (or the wiring). If you bypass the solenoid with a direct link ( a spanner will do the trick) and the starter motor spins you need to replace your solenoid (but check the wring first as you could have a bad connection).

If the starter motor doesn't spin the there's your problem. Probable causes are the brushes have worn down too much or the armature is dirty. Easy to clean it up - use T-cut or similar - and brushes are easy and cheap to replace.

Try: http://skidmarx.co.uk/ for a screen - good quality at way below OEM prices and shipping should be ok to where you are (Plus the ? is in freefall at the moment so you could get a real good deal)

Their should be someone who rebuilds starters in your country, so check around for parts. Check the stockers link maybe they will ship international
