There are only a handful of parts. What is the issue?
I took apart an '82 850 petcock a few months ago and did some work on it. Lever was very hard to turn so I smoothed out the tapered plastic barrel on the inside of the petcock using fine sandpaper. Works perfectly now...and the brand new petcock I bought just in case is still sitting in the box.

I took apart a 550 petcock not long ago trying to see if i could get it working, only to find that there was no apparent reason it DIDNT work. Liquid flowed thru it when it was off the tank, but it simply wouldnt work when attached. Knowing that rebuilds are a crap shoot, i simply ordered a new one....There are only a handful of parts. What is the issue?

what is the issue though? if it's not working just buy a new one, old ones can rarely be fixedComment
