82 GS850GL Coils
Noticed on Z1 there are several Ohm ratings available for the coils...which is correct for my bike? How do I measure for the coorect ones?Tags: None -
The service manual spec lists the primary resistance rating as "Approx. 3 - 5 Ohms"
Not sure why but most people choose the Dyna Green 3 ohm coils when replacement time comes along for a bike with electronic ignition.Ed
To measure is to know.

Going to do the coil relay mod prior to getting new coils to see if this helps as it seams easy enough and can't hurt.Comment

Dyna Green 3 ohm coils are a good choice or Accel supercoils will work. Measure your old coils to check the primary resistance.Comment

Have you already checked to see what voltage is available at the coils?
If it's already less than a volt different than battery voltage, the relay mod won't really help.
