Timing Dyna-S on 82 gs650
Installed a DYNA-S Ignition on my 1982 GS650GLZ. The Dyna instructions say to time with light at mark to the right of F mark. Which timing marks are you suppose to use on the mechanical advancer? This is stamped on the 1-4 side "|T |F 1.4 |" . The 2-3 only has "2.3 |" and the mark is not 180 deg from mark on 1-4 side. I set the engine mark at the 1.4 and 2.3 since they were 180 apart. Bike seems to run well like this?Tags: None -

Put the timing light on the #4 wire and time to F1-4 at 1K rpm. There is a second mark that should be lined up when the advance is fully advanced at around 3K rpm.Comment

Took a picture of a spare advancer I had and noted how I set and how I interpreted your notes is this the mark you are recommending I time to at 1000RPM. Based on the advancer it looks like I got close by blind luck?Comment

That's the mark. Move the plate a little clockwise to get it right. See the mari after the 1&4? That is the advanced mark.Comment
