    Chem-Dip and VM Carb Bodies

I'm giving my GS1000 VM carburetors the full spa treatment, and I figured I would treat the bodies to a dip in Berryman's Chem-Dip. They aren't that horribly bad, but it can't hurt. I was about to dunk one when I noticed they have a little piece of what looks like nylon pressed into the side of the bodies, which results in a little tab sticking out into the slide area. The notch on the side of the slide rides along this tab.

Anybody have any experience with dipping these without anything melting? Even with spray cleaner, it'd be hard to keep some from getting on this piece.

Dip away. That piece won't be effected by the dip.
