    Speedometer cable

On the left of the frount tire there is a drive gear that turns the speedo cable. Is that connection supposed to be a small 4 sided post or is it a spade conection?

      Speedometer cable

I have an 1982 GS 1100GK, and in the prosess of trying to fix the speedometer I found that it needed a cable, so I ordered one. When it arived, it had the square insert insted of the spade type. Not knowing what was suposed to be there I asked. I think I've got the wrong cable.

Square end fits into the speedometer. Do you have the ends reversed?

          Speedometer cable

No I don't have it backwards. It has the square end on both ends. I was thinking that someone changed the frount tire rim and all, but what Bassclift said, I think I've got the wrong cable.
