I RODE MY BIKE TODAY!!!!!!



It is not perfect (has a spot when I switch to 2nd gear) but this puppy has come a long ways since I bought it. The only time I wasable to drive it before has been only..... 2 feet
, and then it would die. I basically put the cabs on, jumped it (have a dead battery still ) It did not start right away but I guess the bowls were still not full. It coughed a couple of times and then it started. Raised a bit the idel let it run for a few and shut it off. Felt the exhausts, and 3 and 4 were cold, while 12 were hot. Pulled the spark plug and it was totally dry. Since it was out, I sprayed a bit of carb cleaner, and crancked it: fired right up, Only thing I did to it was to adjust the idle.
Next thing was the clutch. My clutch had a problem. It would not disengage. I tried adjusting it, and the onlyway it would disengage was to adjust it all the way to a point that it was hard to press the lever. I was not sure if I had some really tough springs. I opened the cluch, and saw that I had some really hevy oil, and looked more like very thick syrup. I took it appart to separate the plates, and put it back together. I tried it (the bike still didn't run at the time) by pushing it with the lever pressed, and could not move it. Finally I eyeballed where the clutch should be adjusted, and put it in first gear, while on the stand
I was very happy to see that I could get it into 1st gear, and the rear wheel did not turn. So, since it still hasn't been transfered to my name, and it has no plates, I just drove it up and down the alley a few times. I have to say, that bike has a lot of power. and when I shifted to 2nd there is a soft spot when I opened the throatle. No worries, I will get to it tomorrow and start figuring it out.

and air screw with out it, air screw broken and the tip so embeded that after trying everything I had to drill the body itself to get that tip out!!! and that is just the beggining. What ever you can think off those carbs had it

) figure out if it is the needle jet hight (had no washers what so ever so strted with 2 and will check soon with 3) and then yes get it licensed. the rest is all done.
