Very quick 550 question

Will cams from an 86 gs550 work on an 85 550? I was looking for some cams to use to be sent in and welded up and reground, and I can't seem to find any information on interchangability.

The alpha-sports.com fiche has your answer. I believe the '85 and '86 cams are the same.

Interestingly, Babbitt's shows that all the '83-'86 GS550 heads have the same cams and alpha-sports shows that they don't. The jetting changed a few points so I am pretty sure the cams must have.

Yes, interesting. I haven't done the research, but are there superseded part numbers involved?

Looks like the intake cam changed, maybe for emissions reasons? Most likely the cams will interchange though.
