    Oil drain bolt washer?

I drained the oil on the boy's 80 550L and found a huge steel washer on the drain bolt. That can't be right.

Is there a replacement washer that I'd be able to source locally? Nylon? Copper? I'm not sure what should be there.

    Thanks,

    Rob

The factory uses a crush washer, aluminum I think. It typically crushes down and stays on the bolt after use, thus it can be reused again.

          Leak

The only thing that counts is whether or not it's leaking. If it's not, I'd stick it back on......
