leaking tach cable?
I've been trying to figure out where an oil drip was coming and found it trailing down my tach cable? Is there a seal that has let loose? Would of never expected to see a drip there. But then again, my motorcycle maint skills need definite improvement.Tags: None

Search for tacho drive, tacho gear, or taco bell

Yep, Actaully are two seals. One is a o-ring like around the housing (the housing comes out of the cam cover), and one is a seal with spring that seals around the spinning shaft.
We could discuss which seal is leaking based on how/where it is leakiing, but I would say replace both while you are at it. Can find them on any OEM parts microfische (look for cam cover).Last edited by Redman; 03-31-2009, 06:44 PM.

Tacho oil leak
Hi, I have had a similar recent oil leak on my GS1100G.
I replaced the 2 oil seals etc, but I notice that there is still a slight leak where it screws into the head. It is really tight. Any suggestions to cure this slight leak.
