    Gas in cylinder 1

I left my petcock on prime overnight and my cylinder filled with gas. I just rebuilt my carbs, does that mean my float level is off or does this happen regardless when you leave the petcock open? Thanks

    bad float needle and seat.

    bad float

these parts should hold fluid no matter what the fuel tap is set to.

Bad or more likely just a chunk of crap keeping the needle from sealing.
Just pulled a tiny chunk of wood out of one of my needles, now all is well again.
Not sure how a chunk of wood got through the filter, that seems a little strange.
Must have fallen into the open fuel hose while I had it apart working on something.
I have also pulled strings of silicone sealer, bugs and other things out of float valves and needles.
Anything that can get in there will keep it from sealing.
      **** happens.

Thanks for the replies. I just (and I mean just 2 weeks ago and not rode the bike since) rebuilt the carbs. I dipped them and changed out the o-rings. Maybe something still got in there somehow. Will check it asap. Thanks again

You want to make sure your tank is clean for sure.
