'81 450 exhaust - are E and L interchangeable?

Will the exhaust/mufflers from an '81 GS450L fit a GS450E? I found some that look in good condition and they look like they will fit but would like to confirm this before buying...

The mounting tabs in the rear are different. I think you could fit some from an "S" though.

for what its worth, i just put L model pipes on a 650E without much issue... a couple of new holes had to be drilled in the mounting tabs but it worked out fine (keep your E tabs, you'll need it for the centre stand). All i've gotta do now is sort out a way for the kick stand to not rest on the pipe, not a biggie but its gotta be done.
