Pilot air screw on 83 gs450T

    Hello everyone,
It might sound stupid, but what is the use of the pilot air jet if the pilot fuel jet is plugged with a rubber stopper.
I might just be confused about how all the little passageways go.

but i thought the air going into the pilot air jet picks up gas through the pilot fuel jet and then discharges right around the throttle plate.

so if the pilot fuel jet is plugged doesnt it just deliver air?

also i need a new air screw since i had to drill mine out.. =/

The pilot circuit feeds fuel in from a sideways passage connecting to the main circuit. The factory service manual had detailed descriptions of how it all works.

I'm not aware of a 450 manual available, you can get the same info out of one of the other Suzuki manuals though, all the CV carbs work the same way... http://members.dslextreme.com/users/bikecliff/

Sorry, thought you were looking for a pilot air screw.

What number air jet do you need? I have some from a GS1000S that you are welcome to.
