i have a pretty good leak coming out from the boot on the front of my shaft drive on my 83 gs1100l.im pretty sure its hydro oil . my question is. istheir a O ring or a seal that i can replace and how hard of a job is it.

Yes, there is a seal. There is a photo of the bevel gear assy. on Bikecliff's site http://members.dslextreme.com/users/bikecliff/ under bevel gear shaft repair. Check to see if the flange is tight. -
