some re-wiring basics

I'd like to clean up the wiring on my bikes and need some tips to get started.

I have a crimp tool frame so I'll probably need a die set. I'm guessing open
terminal type like this:

I have soldering tools and heat shrink wrap.

I plan on using slider type disconnects. Any recommendations? What size?

I like the rubber-sheathed bullet-style connectors, myself. But I don't like to crimp them, I solder them on. I've had crimped-on connectors pull free...though, granted, those were connectors that had corroded a bit.
