yeah I was considaring that. but I dont know if it is the ignitor and I dont want to burn up another one. the weird thing is my doesnt burn up? and if I were to get a dyna ingnition do I need dyna coils too? cause theres another 120 or can I use my accel one's. ryonker is cleaning his old coils off so we can try thoughs and eliminate the chance of it being coils. but that would still leave ignition or ignitor but I guess I could try my ignitor on a fellow post points GSer if they are willing????? any one?

You can use the Accel coils with the Dyna S. The Dyna S does not need an igniter so you're off the hook there.

            That's a good analytical move

And, as Chef said, check your battery voltage while running - you're not testing the battery, you're checking the charging system!

Did you check to see if the Accel coils are 3ohm coils?

I must agree, you gotta check the charging system...if it's over-voltage it'll fry every new electronic and some electrical part you put on the bike. SHOULD work isn't the same as DOES work.

I was going to do that tomorrow or at least figure out how to.

Measure the resistance of the coils. All you need is a multimeter.

I know that accel makes coils for CDI bikes that are .7ohms. You want the 3 ohm coils for your bike. It's very possible the PO installed the wrong coils and then cooked the ignitor.

ive tryed measuring with my multimeter and I get nothing. it just jumps around a lot.

I have read about it a bunch and still it didnt work so I must be using the meter wrong. I have a 200, 2000 and some other numbers under the ohms area on my multimeter so what do I do?
