i just put my carbs back on and hooked up the battery, turned the key on and... nothing. after fiddelin' with it for a minute, i got a few verry soft clicks and would have to wait a second to try again. i did wash the bike so maybe i got something electrical wet. battery is new and charged. it would start up before. thankd dave

I know on my bike, there is a ground wire near the air cleaner box. Check to make sure you reconnected everything and that its tight. Washing the bike shouldn't cause any problems unless you submerged the entire bike in water

Doubtful..the engine would turn over if the ignitor was bad. It wouldn't start but would turn over.could it be the ignitor?
Check the fuses on the bike. Check the connections at the starter solenoid. Verify that you have at least 12 volts at your battery.Comment
