HARD starting 750

More than likely tight valves or dirty/mis-adjusted carburetors.

i have a 80 750l and always have problems with cold start if i put the choke on it will start but if i dont leave it on for a while the bike shuts off sometimes i have to ride with it on or it will shut off when at a stop but once it really warms up i dont need it and and start with out it. only does it in the morning or after not running for a couple days. what could this be.

Yep, sound like you need a valve adjustment. Hard starting is a tell-tale sign of a needed valve adjustment.
