idle adjustment knob

for the life of me i cannot get my hand in to adjust the little idle knob. any ideas? 82 650 g.

Hi,

For me and my bike, I reach in from the left side of the engine. There's room enough for my big paw.

I seem to do best from the right side with my left hand. Of course, I am 5'5" with small hands...so that might have something to do it.
