I have a 1980 GS1000G, that came with a Vance and Hines exhaust.
After much cleaning of the carbs, it's now running, albeit rather lean. As seems typical for these bikes, it won't rev over 4k or so without the airbox, although with the airboxes, it revs up to redline with no obvious flatspots. However, the plugs are still showing white, and it's got all of the other symptoms of running lean: Excess heat, Long time for it to drop down to idle, etc.
I doubt the previous owner jetted it, so I'm thinking that I should probably put in a jet kit. Because I've fought with the airbox for the last time, I also want to go to Pod filters.
What are the stock jet sizes. What have others with similar configurations done for their jet sizes?
