Does anyone know where I can get carburetor rebuild kits for the Mikuni 29mm smoothbores?

You might try Sudco too. www.sudco.com Z1 Enterprises has some parts for them also

Only things you need are the O-rings and float bowl gaskets. I have all the various O-rings you need (send me a PM if you want to discuss) and you can cut the gaskets from gasket paper or order some from Z1 Enterprises or that link above. Z1 also sells the O-rings if you want to get everything from one source.

Schnitz has some of the parts. I was down there last week and they have a bunch of the bowl gaskets (I was looking for the VM26s, which they didn't have).

Does anybody know if the float bowl gaskets are the same for the 29mm and the 26mm carbs? If not, what is the part number for the 29mm carbs float bowl gaskets?

Not the same. Sudco sells the gaskets and has the part number. I'm too lazy to look it up but you can.
