    Base Gasket Sweat - Re-Torque?

    Hey all,

    1980 GS850GL.

Re did gaskets a few years back, and the base gasket (which was retardedly difficult to remove entirely) sweats a little.

I'm just wondering if its possible, or whether it would work to loosen and re-torque the nuts to help this. Its not bad, but ......

    thanks

If it weeps a little, try tightening the head up (all nuts) maybe 1-2lbs above what the book calls for, and just slightly nip up the 2 outside 10mm bolts.
Failing that after tightening up and still leaks, leave it!
    Or full strip down again.

Yes, do one at a time, don't loosen them all then at once.
