Anything is possible, just make sure you're not measuring from on top of the gasket, it should be measured from where the gasket sits.

Could I have screwed the valve seat down too hard? I noticed that it changes in depth when I tighten the hold down screw. Nice daily driver by the way.....I saw a sismilar one in a dealer yesterday. Look like it was laid down and been through the strainer a bit.

Thanks! I doubt tightening the screw too much would cause it to leak, you might strip the screw, or not get it out again, but I don't think it would leak.
