Sounds like a jetting issue. Try shimming the needles and then learn how to do plug chops to judge the mixture at different throttle settings. There is lots of info in the archives on how to do plug chops so I suggest you learn to use the advanced search function.

I'm certainly no expert when it comes to jetting. But, it seems to me the the mains are to big. Perhaps someone else can chime in.

What RPM is it hesitating at?

        Does it hesitate, then go?

Or does it just not go?

If you have NOT installed a jet kit, with ADJUSTABLE needles, with a 4 into 1 pipe, it will NOT run correctly till you do. Ray.

pssssst jetting has nothing to do with RPM... it has everything to do with throttle opening... It could be doing the same thing at 2K RPM as it is at 7K RPM...just depends on WHERE in the throttle position it is..

Yeah, but a general assumption is that throttle opening is commensurate with RPM, is it not?

So, if he's wacking it open at 4K RPM, that's about 1/2 throttle.
