    Speedo/tach

Okay, first off seaching does not give me relevant information. I am trying to replace the glass assembly off my 1983 gs750e. The speedo and tach gauge cluster is not the same type as what is already posted for disassembly using the drill press method. I can get the glass assembly (4) loose, but can not figure out how to get the trip reset knob (5) to come off. Anyone ever dealt with this issue please feel free to chime in.

I'm not familiar with those square gage clusters.

The knobs on the round speedo's just pull straight out... although sometimes it takes a little effort to get them out...

Try shooting a little WD-40 or silicone down the shaft & give a pull straight up.

Salty_Monk made this repair on a friends 750ES. If the knob doesn't come off like Mike suggests (I think he is right in that it just pulls off), you might want to hunt down Salty via PM and ask him what to do.
