    Do you need the nut with the nubs or the entire advance unit?

      Bill, the nubs are on the ADVANCER, not the nut. At least on 1100s anyway. All of mine are for GS1100Es so I don't know if they will work on his motor. Ray.

        That's right. The notches are on the big nut.

          so....i know its not the best route, but for now will i be OK JB Welding the nubs back on?

            You can but it back together the way is now. You just can't turn the engine at the ignition side of the crank.
