gs750l?
i have a gs750l i read on another post (that i cant find any more) that the gs750l motor is a pos that the bearings always give out. the bike they were looking at was i beleive a 78 or 79 mine is a 80 with the tscc motor and i noticed that motor looked different it had the round cam covers. just wanted to know if this motor is any good i plan on making it a cafe and be able to push the motor a lil and not worry about blowing it and if it is a pos can it be swapped for a gs750e motor.

It's true that the 16 valve engines were prone to top end oiling problems, they are still a reliable powerplant. Change the oil frequently and perform routine maintenance. The pre-80, 8 valve engines were deemed to be more reliable. I've owned my bike since 07 and aside from routine maintenance the engine just runs. The bike is very reliable and I wouldn't hesitant to take it on a long trip. I also have not modded the engine or run it at insane speeds. If I wanted a bike to race, I guess I would have bought a crotch rocket. -
The round cam caps are on the earlier two valve engines. Two valve 750s are indestructible. You can run the p;ss out of it forever.Comment

16 valve
Both my bikes are 16 valve, both run perfectly and both are nearly 30 years old. If the 16 valve engine were a POS, I'd have figured it out by now........along with a whole bunch of other people on the forum.
